New Delhi/Lucknow: The BJP’s grand plans for its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rallies in Uttar Pradesh may have to face rough weather and the state government is likely to deny permission to hold rallies in the state till mid-November.

A top government official on Monday said that the dates of the Modi’s rallies are coinciding with various festivals and allowing BJP rallies at the same time could disturb communal harmony in a state that is still reeling under the impact of communal violence.

The BJP has planned to hold Modi’s rallies in Kanpur on October 15, in Jhansi on October 25 and in Bahraich onNovember 8. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday in the National Integration Council (NIC) meeting claimed that “some main political parties are trying to dangerously disturb the communal harmony in the state ahead of Lok Sabha elections in 2014”.

In similar vein, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that “forces are fanning communal tension in order to polarise the situation in their favour”.
