Parliament to meet from Feb 5 to 21, Anti-corruption Bills, Telangana Bill. : The next session of Parliament will commence on February 5 and will conclude on February 21.
New Delhi: The next session of Parliament will commence on February 5 and will conclude on February 21. It gives hopes of the Telangana Bill coming to Parliament in the next session. Apart from the Telangana Bill, which the Congress is keen to get passed, there is Vote-on Account for general expenditure and the railways, besides the six pending anti-corruption Bills.
The Telangana Bill is still under the consideration of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and is due to be returned to the Centre by January 23. But this is subject to President Pranab Mukherjee not granting any further time to the Assembly for discussing the Telangana Bill. It is only after the Telangana Bill is back from the State that the Centre can process it and bring it to Parliament in the next session.
Since the session will continue till February 21, it is expected that in spite of a further extension being granted to the AP Assembly, the Centre will have enough time to table it in Parliament in the next session. This will be the resumed Winter Session of Parliament, as it was not adjourned sine die but prorogued.
