Hyderabad: AICC president Sonia Gandhi is likely to visit Telangana on April 16. This decision was taken on Monday at the meeting of the Congress election committee held at the house of the AICC president. Later speaker to the media, party general secretary Digvijay Singh said that the APCC president and other leaders were asked to be in Delhi on April 2 so that the list of candidates for Assembly and Lok Sabha could be decided.
Similarly, the list of candidates for Telangana would be taken up and decided on April 4. Asked if the party would an nounce the names in one single installment, Singh said that whatever names cleared would be announced first. He, however, did not give any details about Sonia Gandhi’s visit to the state. But the visit of Sonia Gandhi assumes great importance as that would sound the bugle for the Congress campaign for the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
