Kamalanathan panel report likely this week

Hyderabad: The Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments appear to be making efforts for an amicable settlement regarding the division of employees.

According to sources, the Kamalanathan committee, which has been doing exercise on the issue has almost finalised the guidelines and would make an announcement in next two or three days. Both the government would then upload the guidelines on their respective websites.

Although employees are to be divided in the ratio of 58:42 between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, AP government was wondering how to accommodate, if more than 58 per cent of employees opt for AP because the retirement age has been increased from 58 to 60. The government is worried additional financial burden would be imposed on the State in such a scenario.

However, the AP government is believed to have decided to take all the Seemandhra employees opting for the State cadre. The government, it is learnt, has decided to be employee-friendly and engage them in construction of Andhra Pradesh. The AP government feels that they may have to accommodate about 10,000 to 15,000 employees.

On the other hand, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has also agreed to create supernumerary posts in departments, if number of Telangana employees was found to be in excess of 42 percent. This is good news especially for fourth class employees who are in excess in Telangana region.
