A club associated with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association became the centre for this controversy, after denying permission to Madras High court judge and tow other advocates, because they were wearing Dhotis. Lungi is a traditional rather a common attire in the state. But surprisingly the judge and other advocates were not allowed inside, because they were in Lungis.

Now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jaya Lalitha expressed anger on this incident. She assured that a new act will be introduced to curb such incidents. She also sternly warned that, if any club resorts to such incidents, its license will be cancelled.
