Hyderabad: The prices of petrol may further comedown on Friday, in view of the reduced crude oil prices in the International Market. The Indian Oil Corporation has given a clue on this matter. B. Ashok, the Chairman of IOC, on Tuesday has said that there was no control of the government over the prices of POL.
He said that based on the crude oil prices, the prices would be either increased or reduced by the agencies every fortnight. The prices of petrol were reduced on August 1 after holding a review meeting and the next review meeting is planned on August 15, added Ashok. He said that there is a confidence that the prices of petrol will reduce but how much it will drop is a matter to be decided after the review meeting. Further, he said that last time the price of petrol was reduced by 1re.
