New Delhi: The Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPI-M) is all set to review its political activities for the last 25-years and, in particular, the party’s decline in last three years, at a three-day central committee meeting scheduled to be held from Monday in Hyderabad.

Weakening of the party across the country, growing debate within the party circles about the CPM’s association with bourgeoisie parties and demands for an independent stand on the people’s issues likely to dominate the discussions in the meeting. Besides, the party would discuss its political strategy.

The meeting which would start at Pragathinagar in the city is to be attended by party’s general secretary Prakash Karat, Rajya Sabha MP Sitaram Yechury and other members of the central committee.

Speaking to The Hans India, Karat said two documents will be placed before the members for discussion. The meeting will prepare the ground work for the party’s 21st All-India Congress scheduled to be held somewhere in April this year at Visakhapatnam.
