Jaipur: Expressing concern over the growing influence of terrorist outfit ISIS, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that the extremist organisation is inspiring innocent minds with intolerance and violence.

"The appeal of ISIS to the young educated people in spite of its medieval ideology is a cause of concern to the global community," the Home Minister sad while addressing the international conference on Counter Terrorism in Jaipur.

"It is a matter of serious concern, they are seeding minds of the innocent with poisonous provocation and inspiring them to be intolerant and violent," he added.

Furthermore, the Home Minister said that the timing of the conference was apt since the world is witnessing an entirely new paradigm of terrorism.

"Terror outfits like ISIS don't believe in a plural society and diversity of faith which reflects inherent beauty of human beings. The timing of this conference is apt since the world is witnessing an entirely new paradigm of terrorism in the form of the Islamic state," said Singh.

"When much of the world is trying to grapple with the menace of terrorism, this conference being held to deliberate on ways and means to counter terrorism is a welcome initiative," he added.

Singh was speaking at the three-day long conference on counter-terrorism which has been organized by the Rajasthan government in collaboration with India Foundation and Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice.

Union Defence minister Manohar Parrikar, MoS (home) Kiren Rijiju, MoS (external affairs) V K Singh, MoS (commerce and industry) Nirmala Sitharaman and MoS (planning and defence) Rao Inderjit Singh were also present on the occasion.
