In the militant attack, other three persons of the family were injured.


Police said that, the incident took place at a remote area Bijulibon village under Pengeri police station in the Upper Assam district around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.


The suspected ULFA(I) militants had called out the family of businessman Nandalal Shah and opened fire them resulting the businessman killed on spot.


"Two militants had called out the businessman family and opened fire them with sophisticated weapons, " a top police official said.


Kajal Shah, daughter of the businessman, who critically injured died on the way to nearest hospital.


Wife of the businessman and his two sons, who sustained bullet injuries in the militant attack had admitted at Assam Medical College hospital in Dibrugarh for better treatment.


"Suspected militants had attacked on the businessman family after failure to give the extortion money demanded by the outfit group, " the police official said.
