TN raises over 100 cr for flood-relief

The contributions for undertaking relief and rehabilitation work in flood-affected areas of Tamil Nadu crossed the Rs 100 crore mark with several individuals and corporates joining in today.

The total contributions from various agencies received by the State government on Tuesday was Rs 12.31 crore.

With the contributions collected, the total fund collected stood at Rs 111.8 crore, an official release said.

Private sector Karur Vysya Bank's Managing Director K Venkatraman gave away Rs 3 crore, including a day's salary of the bank's employees, to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat here.
