Another rhino poached in Kaziranga

Guwahati: Poachers killed another one horned rhinoceros in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on the wee hours of Sunday and managed to flee with its horn.

It is the second poaching incident in the world heritage site in this year.

According to reports, a poacher gang had killed a female rhino at Difalo Chanak forest camp area under Burhapahar range inside the park.

Forest guards had found the bullet injures dehorned carcass of the rhino on Sunday morning.

Security personnel also recovered 31 empty cartridges of AK series rifle and M-16 rifle from the area.

In last year, at least 30 one horned rhinos were poached in the state.
