Seven from NE region selected for Padma award
Noted art theater personality from north eastern Indian state of Manipur Heisnam Kanhailal is today selected for prestigious Padma Bhushan award.
Guwahati : Noted art theater personality from north eastern Indian state of Manipur Heisnam Kanhailal is today selected for prestigious Padma Bhushan award.
A total of seven personalities from North-East India are selected for Padma award 2016.
Apart from Heisnam Kanhailal, four noted persons from Assam, one each from Nagaland and Meghalaya are selected for Padma Shri award in this year.
From Assam, Dhirendra Nath Bezbaruah, Prahlad Chandra Tasa, Kameshwar Brahma, Ajoy Kumar Dutta are selected for Padma Shri.
On the other hand, Prof. Veena Tandon from Meghalaya and Tokheho Sema from Nagaland also selected for Padma Shri award.
Heisnam Kanhailal, who was received the Padma Shri award in 2004.
