Kalaburagi (Karnataka): Agriculture Minister Krishna Bairegouda said the Agriculture Mission which was delayed in the State following drought situation would soon be re-launched.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Bairegouda said the scheme would benefit the farmers. Benefits would be made available directly to the farmers through Agriculture officers in cooperation with the Revenue Department from this year itself, he said.

He said the government was implementing various schemes to benefit the farmers and the response to pro-farmer Krishi Bhagya Scheme was encouraging. Already the government had deposited 80 percent of famine relief fund in farmers’ account and the rest would be given before April 15, he said.

“We directed the banks not to link famine relief fund to the crop loan. But some banks are continuing to do so. We will urge the RBI to issue a circular to such banks,” he said. Chincholi MLA Dr Umesh Jadhav and others were present.
