New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi admitted his mistake and also took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying he is a human and bound to make mistakes. The Gandhi scion also thanked people for pointing out the tweet goof-up. “For all my BJP friends: unlike Narendrabhai, I am human. We do make the odd mistake and that’s what makes life interesting. Thanks for pointing it out and please do keep it coming, it really helps me improve. Love you all,” Rahul tweeted.

The remarks came a day after a tweet on the price rise issue calculated the percentage figures wrong and was deleted later. A new tweet questioning the Prime Minister was posted highlighting the rise of prices of essential commodities in three years of Modi’s tenure asking if the Bharatiya Janata Party government is only for the rich. Raising seventh question in ‘question a day series’ ahead of Gujarat Assembly elections, Rahul said: “Poll rhetoric, demonetisation and GST have hit the common man badly. And the price rise has only escalated problems of a common man. Is the BJP government only for the rich?”

Rahul, who will be elevated as the Congress president, substantiated his claims by listing down the price of essential items in 2014 and 2017 by showing the rise in prices as high as Rs 328. The tagline of his posers to the Prime Minister is “22 salon ka hisaab, Gujarat mange jawaab (Gujarat demands answers for 22 years of BJP rule)”. The two-phase Gujarat elections will take place on December 9 and 14. The results will be declared on December 18.
