Why we need MGR 2, learn from Virat Parva in Maha Bharat
After the superb introductory speech of Super Star Ranji on March 5 2018 and the warmth of acceptance Rajni had received in Tamil Nadu, many people have gone hunky panky. Most of them have only one question to ask, why cine stars entering politics and why people of the state have gone so fragile to stardom.
Interestingly those who raise their eye brows at actors have no issue with advocates, doctors, engineers, charted accountants, professors entering politics. Similarly the pack of spiritual leaders entering politics, suggesting medical recipes for treating many diseases and even the epidemic like Dengue, endorsing the safety science of Mercury etc., have not bothered but ironically they fumes at actors when they announce their entry into politics.
It is fear, fear that the actors have mass appeal and the fear is that if the mass appeal turns to vote……. what would happen to all those looters.
MGR has kept DMK away from power for long 13 years and until the demise of MGR, power was a day dream to DMK. Amma was about to repeat the same saga of MGR in Tamil Nadu and kept DMK out of power both in the state and in the centre for the historic second term, although she passed away a year ago.
Politics, governance and the career as acting are inseparable since time immemorial. All those who object to actors entering politics must reflect the narratives of Virata Parva in Maha Bharat. After Pandavas lost the game of dice with Shakuni, were imposed to go on exile for long 13 years subjecting one year of incognito, i.e., their identity should not be known, failing which another term of exile shall be imposed.
The Pandavas, to conceal their identity, chose to play different roles like Yudhishthira took the character of game entertainer to the King of Virata under the name Kanka, Bhima as cook Ballava, Arjuna as eunuch, the music and dance teacher under the name Brihannala, Nakula as horse heard and Sahadeva as cow heard and finally the Draupadi, as maid – Sairandhri to queen Shudeshna.
In real life, all of them were born princes but chose the act different roles to complete the period of exile. Further the Pandavas also fought war under the disguised character like brave warriors to protect the kingdom of Virata. After the death of Kichaka, Kauravas waged war against Virata and Arjuna under the role- eunuch Brihannala, fought war against Kauravas, defeated them and protected Virata kingdom.
The valiant princes like Pandavas themselves played different character and waged war which the Maha Bharat, the great epic of India has well documented. When such is the reality and truth, why not those from acting profession enter politics? Is politics a reserved constituency for politicians or the politicians are different species of Homo sapiens?
The actors who choose their role carefully to play only the positive roles are naturally seen by people with great hope and expectations. MGR and NTR were best examples. People certainly believe such actors would save the country like how they have been playing the role of saviors in tinsel screen.
Super star has displayed not just great but an exemplary leadership quality and true statesmanship. In his introductory speech itself he has answered all the doubts of people, gave clear road map on his governance and about his role model.
Having Ranji invoked MGR rule, it is clear that certainly he is going to oppose DMK. None needs to oppose AIADMK as everyone in the party are fighting from within. The in fights in AIADMK should not, by default bring DMK back to power is the worry of majority of people in the state. But now such possibility has been virtually blocked by Ranji, the MGR II.
It is to be seen whether Kamal would clear his stand, whether he would support or oppose DMK. If Kamal undoubtedly state that he is to oppose DMK, then the state has lot to celebrate. Under such situation the voters would divide between Kamal and Rajni than between DMK and other parties.
Even if both Rajni and Kamal fight election separately, still it is good for the state and both will come out victorious like how both actors are equally successful despite being in the filed at the same period. Both will be contesting for the development of the state and never for power or money or to establish their family rule.
