Ranchi: Eight men convicted for killing a meat trader last year in Jharkhand were found festooning by the Union Minister Jayant Sinha and the images were widely circulated on social media.

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation is captured festooning the convicts in Jharkhand in his residence. In March this year, 11 people were convicted for lynching by a fast track court. Though the Jharkhand High Court suspended the life sentence of eight persons.

“ When these people got bail, they came to my house, I wished them well. Let law take its own course in the future, the accused will be punished and those innocent will be set free,” said Sinha.

In twitter he expressed complete disapproval of such acts. Though he had “misgiving” about the trail of men convicted by a fast-track court.

Hemant Soren, opposition leader in Jharkhand, criticized the minister for his negligence and tweeted ‘This is despicable’ and also tagged Harvard where Sinha attended his college.

On June 29,2017, Alimuddin Ansari,40,was lynched by a group of people in Bazaar Tand locality of Ramgarh town, suspecting that he was carrying beef in his car.

“Any kind of support to such elements is deplorable. This is the true color of the BJP. They just want to win the elections, and for that, their leaders can cross any limit,” said Ajoy Kumar, Jharkhand state Congress chief, while talking to News18.
