Bengaluru: The Palike has not found even a single pothole in five of the eight civic zones. As per the Plaike’s data, the city has only 536 potholes in areas like Bengaluru south, Rajarajeshwarinagar and Yelahanka and also roads in Mahadevpura, Bommanahalli.
Dasarahalli, Bengaluru east and west are free of caters. A BBMP Official said “We have filled all potholes and will complete work before we update the court on Friday”. The high court had pulled up the agency for failing to make the city roads motorable. BBMP undertook a massive pothole-filling drive. As per the civic body, there were over 25,000 potholes before the court intervened.
BBMP’s exercise came under the scanner after the court-appointed committee submitted a preliminary report stating pothole-filling was not being done scientifically. Officials claimed that many roads came under defect liability period and it was on contractors to maintain them. 425km were under DLP, 1,900km of Arterial and sub-Arterial roads.
