Report of TOI hand in DC owner's arrest false

The Hansindia web edition carried an article on February 28 with the title "Times of India eyeing DC and Sakshi assets." The article mentioned that the TOI clout was behind the CBI arrest of DC owner Venkatram Reddy. The Times Group has denied the report as false.

A statement sent by TOI reads: "We state that unless otherwise specifically admitted herein, the contents of the Article as contained in its various paragraphs are hereby strictly and specifically denied and refuted in toto." Here's a screenshot of the article.

We wish to apologize for any harm caused to the brand by the article published on our website. We wish to reiterate that the article was written by one of our freelancers and a disclaimer was carried at the end of the write-up saying the views expressed in the article were those of the author and did not reflect that of the organisation.
