To travel to the shandies, they are availing private transport services like jeeps and auto rickshaws travelling hazardously as the private operators usually jam pack their vehicles up to 25 passengers, over and above the carrying capacity of the vehicles.

Though the Utnoor TSRTC depot has 31 buses, they mostly ply between Utnoor and Adilabad and to Hyderabad. Other buses of the depot ply on the national highways and rarely operate them to rural areas.

In spite of hazardous journey undertaken by the commuters, the officials are hardly regulating the errant private vehicle operators. When such overcrowded vehicles meet with accidents, the calamities would be very high, the villagers said quoting the past experiences. The officials only intervene only when accidents take place, they lamented. It is high-time, the RTC authorities operate bus services on rural routes to save villagers travelling to weekly shandies putting their lives at great risk.
