Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister in Vajpayee Government, Dilip Singh Judeo, recently passed away, when he was 64 years old. Judeo was RSS hand, who was engaged in the reconversion operation, called Ghar-Vaapsi (home-coming), by washing the feet of the tribals, who were earlier converted to Christianity. It was one of the main campaigns that strengthened the BJP base in Chhattisgarh. He went on to become Union Minister of State for Environment in the Vajpayee Government. But a sting operation cost him dearly, as after that in 2003, he was forced to leave the government.

Judeo was caught on camera with his now famous quote: Gar paise khuda nahi, toh khuda ki kasam, khuda se kam bhi nahi (If money is not God, by God, it is not any lesser than God). This was a huge embarrassment for the BJP, which had always made corruption as the poll campaign against the Congress.

When its own leader was seen on camera, receiving money, the Vajpayee Government was forced to drop Judeo. But Judeo continued to be an influential party leader. He was sitting BJP MP from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.
