Samaikyandhra heat on politicians

Ongole: The Samaikayndhra heat is slowly turning on political leaders who are keeping away from the movement. The student groups are seething with anger at the double game of Seemandhra Congress leaders. They are asking them to plunge into Samaikyandhra movement by submitting resignations forthwith.

They warn the political leaders that their political future would be in jeopardy if they do not go with the public mood.

While leaders like Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy who hailed from Telangana were asking for the Telangana Bill to be introduced in Parliament only after the issues raised by Seemandhra leaders were solved, the Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi, who represented Prakasam district was acting against the interests of public.

The student leaders also asked the people not believe rumours that the employees would resume work from September 2. In fact, the movement would be intensified after the Septmber 7 public meeting in Hyderabad, they said. People from all walks of life are actively participating in the movement which completed 30 days so far, he said. They claimed that people themselves were leading movement without the support of political parties. Division of the State is threat to national security, they observed. Congress party organised hunger strike in Singaraykonda on Friday. Muslims organised a huge rally in support of ‘Samaikyandhra’ in Markapuram on Friday. They raised slogans in favour of of united State and formed a human chain at the local Clock Tower centre.

In Podili, Lorry Owners Association conducted a rally with 100 lorries on Friday. The rally started at Chinna bus stand centre and ended at Markapur cross roads. Markapuram MLA Kandula Narayana Reddy flagged of the rally. JAC leaders, Bar Association members, RTC employees and others participated in the programme.

West Godavari: Posters depicting Narasapuram MP and TTD chairman Kanumuri Bapuruji as ‘Mosala Bapiraju’ created flutter in Bhimavaram on Friday. He is popularly known as ‘Meesala’ Bapiraju for sporting trademark moustache.

A declaration in the name of Bapiraju on the flexi board stated that the voters were unaware of the other side of his character, that he deceived voters and Telugu people.

It is also said that he is thankful to Sonia Gandhi for being appointed as chairman of TTD for second term and making efforts to scuttle the Seemandhra movement by not working in tune with the aspirations of the people. Samaikyandhra protesters tonsured their heads in protest against the bifurcation of state. Hundreds of youth participated in the progamme organised by Nayee Brahmins Association.

The locals demanded the MP to submit his resignation, take part in the agitation and to inform the high command about the intensity of ongoing public movement in Seemandhra. Children donned the role of political leaders and staged kits protesting the bifurcation of the State. In Palakole, Montessori school students held a rally with black umbrellas and staged protest at the Gandhi Statue Centre on Friday. The protestors pledged their support to the relay hunger strike being held for the past 30 days.

At Jangareddygudem Private Schools Association held a bus rally. About 100 school buses and 150 autos participated in the rally that passed through the main streets of the town. Relay hunger strike launched by teachers JAC continued on the second day in Jeelugumilli mandal headquarters. School children performed ‘kolatam’ and formed a human chain.

A huge rally with 10,000 school students and teachers was organised in Pedakurapadu village in Guntur district on Friday.Local MLA K Sridhar extended support to the rally. The MLA, speaking on the occasion, accused Sonia Gandhi of dividing the State to make his son Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister of the country.

Gurajala: Journalists and lawyers in the town have launched 72-hour deeksha on Friday in support of Samaikyandhra. They garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Potti Sriramulu before launching the deeksha. A huge rally was organised on the occasion.

Human chains were formed at the main centres of the town. Palnandu TV head Bade Jani, speaking on the occasion wished that the agitation would continue till the Centre revokes the decision on division of the State.

In Vunukonda, a huge rally with lorries was taken out in support of Samaikyandhra on Friday.
