RR boxers hold sway
Ranga Reddy Boxers Hold Sway, Swami Vivekananda Rural Pykka State-Level Boxing. Ranga Reddy girls were in fine form in the boxing events of the 6th Swami Vivekananda Rural Pykka State-level boxing and hockey championship for boys and girls at the GMC Balayogi Stadium here on Monday.
Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy girls were in fine form in the boxing events of the 6th Swami Vivekananda Rural Pykka State-level boxing and hockey championship for boys and girls at the GMC Balayogi Stadium here on Monday.
The event is being conducted under the joint auspices of D S A, Ranga Reddy District, SAAP and SAI. Their pugilists won a couple of important bouts against fancied opponents.
Meanwhile in the hockey competitions, Ranga Reddy women defeated East Godavari while YSR Kadapa men trounced Adilabad 4-0. Earlier, the boxing events were inaugurated by international M Dhananjay Goud.
Results- Hockey Women: Ranga Reddy bt East Godavari 3-0; Men: YSR Kadapa bt Adilabad 4-0.
Boxing-Boys- Up to 46kg: J Prasad (VZM) bt D Goving(NLD); 46-48kg: M Nagaraju(RR) bt Md Kareem(NZM).
Girls Up to 46 kg: G Ramya (VSP) bt K Geerwani (NZM); 46-48 kg: K S Bramari (NZB) bt A Akila (R.R).
48-50 kg: A Hema (KRMNR) bt G Neelavathi (VZM).
50-52 kg: E S Sanjana (Medak) bt M Prasina (EG); 52-54 kg: S Nagalaxmi (Krishna) bt M Mahalaxmi (ATP).
54-57 kg: R Devi (VSP) bt Sneehitha (MDK); 57-60 kg: A Manirekha (MDK) bt P Harith (Krishna); 60-63 kg: A Manisha (VSP) bt Y Dolashalini (MDK).
63-66 kg: P Aksha Reddy (RR) bt P Manisha (MDK); 80+ kg: Nagavika (RR) bt V Shruthi (MDK).
