Indian colts impress in Asian chess. India won four silver medals and a bronze in the Asian Chess Championship for Under-20 boys and girls that was organized by Kyrgyz Chess in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Monday.

WIM Ivana Maria Furtado, Pranali Dharia, SL Narayanan and Chakravarthy Reddy won silver medals while WIM Nandhidhaa PV won the bronze medal.

Ivana narrowly missed the gold medal in the keenly contested event with Uzbekistan’s WFM Tokhirjonova Gulrukhbegim. Both were tied with 7.5 points. WIM Nandhidhaa PV won the bronze with 6.5 points. In the boys section SL Narayanan won the silver medal while the rapid championship saw Pranali Dharia and Chakravarthy Reddy settle for silver medals. Hisham Al Tahir, General Secretary ACF and Milan Tarpanov, President of Kyryg Federation, gave away the prizes. State’s first IM and coach Lanka Ravi was also present.
