All set for HCA seniors zonals
The season opener coming in the form of HCA Senior Zonals two-day tournament-2016 will feature 12 teams classified into three groups. This will be the ideal take-off point for the selectors, who are hoping that rains would not affect the tournament, to pick the probables and subsequently the Hyderabad squad.
Hyderabad: The cricket season, which has huge stakes for incumbent Ranji players, the out of favour players eyeing redemption and those knocking on the doors, will get underway at various grounds in the city from Monday.

In Monday’s opening day first round Group ‘A’ fixtures, Mehdi Hasan-led Hyderabad XI will clash with Ghulam Ahmed XI, which is being skippered by B Anirudh, at Gymkhana Ground while Districts XI and Chairman’s XI play each other at RGICS.
In Group ‘B’ Secunderabad XI take on Abbas Ali Baig XI at ECIL and Hyderabad Colts XI will cross swords with Hyderabad Rest XI at NFC grounds. Group ‘C’ will see President XI fighting it out with ML Jaisimha XI while P Krishnamurthy XI run into Combined XI.
