Sahithi in joint lead

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh’s Sahithi Varshini beat Yashavisree of Tamil Nadu in the seventh round of the girl’s category to join overnight leader Savita Sri of Tamil Nadu in the 30th National Under-9 chess championship in Jalandhar on Friday, according to information received here.

Both have have 6.5 points after the seventh round. In the boys category, Dev Shah remained sole leader with 6.5 points while Parneeth Uppala of Telangana State and Shahil Dey of Assam are joint second with 6 points.
