Afreen, Nagma win gold medals
Juhiya, a trainee under Omkarnath Yadav, was at her aggressive best in the finals, where she kayoed her opponent in 20 seconds flat. She is a part of the Telangana State team in the 60-63kgs category and will be seen in action in the ensuing Nationals.
Warangal: City girls Juhiya Afreen and Shaik Nagma won gold medals in their respective weight categories of the 62nd Inter-district SGFI Telangana State boxing competition at GJC Rangashai in Warangal on Thursday here on Thursday.
Juhiya, a trainee under Omkarnath Yadav, was at her aggressive best in the finals, where she kayoed her opponent in 20 seconds flat. She is a part of the Telangana State team in the 60-63kgs category and will be seen in action in the ensuing Nationals.
Afreen, a student of NASR School, triumphed in the 60-63kgs category. First-year Intermediate student from Sultan-Ul-Uloom College, Nagma, clinched the top honours in the 46kg category. Displaying fine form, she defeated Arshiya Begum in the semifinal and P Anusha of Warangal in the title clash.
