It was a close match as neither side was willing to budge an inch and gave no chance whatsoever for the opponent to consolidate any gains. Credit should go to players from both teams although the host did have an edge before Nagendra’s crisp brace sealed the verdict in favour of Visakhapatnam.
He scored the first and the winner while Krishna Kishore sent one in for the titlist. For Guntur, Keerthi and Ajay Babu reduced the margin. Later, GSVSSS Prasad Sarma, Executive Director, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) gave away the prizes in the presence of senior officials from Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Visakhapatnam.
