In a fine showing, they won the coveted All India hockey league-cum-knockout tournament at Kovilpatti that featured the country’s premier 16 teams ,After conquering East Coast Railway and Army in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively, they survived anxious moments in the championship when ONGC put in a spirited performance to take the score to 2-all at regular time.
However, in the deciding tie-breaker, the railway outfit romped home 4-3.On their arrival, they met Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway, who appreciated them and exhorted them to keep winning more such laurels to the institution.
