Hyderabad: On a day of dramatic developments that threw open the tournament, P Sri Sai Baswanth from West Godavari dethroned overnight leader from Telangana State S Khan with a fluent win on the top board of the ninth round to emerge as sole leader in the ongoing inaugural edition of Charminar All India Fide Rating Chess Tournament at Srinivasa Function Hall in HMT Nagar here on Saturday.Baswanth has garnered eight points from nine games while Khan has 7.5 aggregated points.
Important results-Round Nine: S Khan (7.5) lost to P Sri Sai Baswanth(8), Kalur Nikhil (7) drew Y Sai Akshay (7), Anuraag (7) drew Sheik Fayaz (7), Darani Srinivas(7) drew Vedadri K (7), Subba Raju S (6.5) drew SVC Chakravarthy (6.5)
