Vijayawada: Guntur was leading by 73 runs against West Godavari at stumps on the second day of the ACA Central Zone Under-23 Inter- district three-day round robin league matches at Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju stadium at Mulapadu on Saturday.
After making 235 in their first innings, Guntur restricted the opponent for 218 in their first innings Meanwhile, the North Zone match at Vizianagaram saw Gulfam setting the Sir Vizzy Stadium on fire with a brilliant unbeaten 118 to steer the host to a massive 200 for the loss of one wicket against East Godavari, who were all out for 382 in their first innings.
A fighting 51 by Sanjay Suresh was the highlight of West Godavari innings as other batsmen failed to tackle the fine spell by Sai Vignesh, who returned with an impressive 4/73 haul. Dileep Kumar and Y Harish accounted for two batsmen each.
On the other hand, the entire day’s play between host Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam was washed out at MVGR College Stadium because of overnight rain.
