Hyderabad: Displaying all-round superiority and bouncing back at critical junctures, Central Command won the Army Inter Command Volleyball Championship 2017-18 in a tantalizingly close final against Southern Command that went the distance at the Eagle Indoor Volleyball Stadium, 1EME Centre late Friday evening.

The champion outfit held on to their nerves while staging a magnificent comeback for a 25-22, 17-25, 25-21, 15-25 and 19-17 verdict in the electrifying championship clash amid lusty cheers from the sizeable crowd. A total of five teams participated in the event that was held on a round-robin basis.

The significance of the championship is that spikers who excel will be short-listed for advanced and professional training and can stake a claim for Army team in the Inter-Services Volleyball Championship, which will be held in September.
Lieutenant General KK Aggrawal, Commandant, Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) gave away the prizes.
