Hyderabad: Viqar Ahmed Shafeeq came up with a magical effort that was enough for him to win the Skeet Shooting (Shotgun) event in the Telangana State Shooting Competitions being held at Shooting Range, SATS, here on Monday.
He logged 69 points and pipped second placed Gusti Noria by the proverbial whisker as the latter accumulated 68 points. With 63 points in his kitty, Subhash Chintalapati clinched the bronze medal.
The top three in skeet junior men category were Subhash Chintalapati, who took the gold with 63 points while Munek Battula (53) and Chintalapati Viraaj (40) took the silver and bronze respectively. N Sonali Raju, with an overall aggregate of 50 points, won the skeet junior women honours.
