Big boost for Special Olympics

Special Olympics Bharat has joined hands with the Lions Clubs International Foundation to launch a national partnership titled Mission Inclusion Bharat here, receiving a one million-dollar grant for an initial period of three years, it was announced on Monday.
New Delhi: Special Olympics Bharat has joined hands with the Lions Clubs International Foundation to launch a national partnership titled Mission Inclusion Bharat here, receiving a one million-dollar grant for an initial period of three years, it was announced on Monday.
The Mission Inclusion service will support inclusive programmes for individuals with intellectual disabilities as part of a multilateral commitment to forge full social inclusion, according to a release.
Commenting on the programme launch, Mary Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Special Olympics said: "Together, we have a most unique opportunity to bring this population out of the shadows and into the light of their families, neighbourhoods, communities, and nation.”
