Farmer ends life

Nalgonda: A debit-ridden farmer, committed suicide on Saturday by consuming pesticides at Kokkirala thanda of Chinthapally mandal.

The deceased, Korra Bhanu, 44, cultivated cotton in his two acres and also in another five acres, which were taken on lease. He borrowed more than Rs 2 lakh for crop cultivation and he took money from money lenders for his daughter’s marriage.

Bhanu was deeply depressed when the cotton crop yield was not up to the expected level and consumed pesticides when he was alone in home.

Chintapalli police registered a case and took up investigation.
