Do you remember seeing this icon before? Yes, you are right, on the fifth beta of iOS 12. This icon showed an iPad with no Home button, no notch and rounded corners but it was a small icon designed supposed to be used in the battery widget. Therefore, it didn’t give us a much information on the form factor of the device. Now, we’ve found a more detailed look at the 2018 iPad Pro revamped within iOS.

Today, a new icon found within iOS offers a more detailed view of the 2018 iPad Pro, which we expect to be announced during the Apple event to be held on Tuesday in Brooklyn Music Academy. This icon displays iPad with rounded corners, no notch and no Home button. An interesting feature of this icon is how large the bezels look when compared to the current iPhones.

This might be due to how the icon is created; sometimes thicker lines are required for it to be “readable” at smaller sizes. Last year a similar consequence happened with the iPhone X glyph was found.

Another interesting aspect is that the sleep/wake button is still available at the top, while new iPhone models feature a side button that’s used to invoke Siri, take screenshots and shut down the device with button combinations. The presence of a sleep/wake button instead of a side button could be just a design decision for the new iPad. However, it is possible the 2018 iPad Pro ends up flaunting a side button as this can be a partial asset.

As of now, it’s for sure that we will get to see a new refreshed iPad Pro this Tuesday.
