Guv to address T Legislature today

Hyderabad: Governor ESL Narasimhan will address the joint session of Telanagana Legislature at 11 am on Wednesday. Although the Old Assembly building was the preferred choice in previous years, this time the Governor is set to give his speech in Telangana Assembly Hall as the Old Assembly building was allotted to residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

Narasimhan will outline the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government’s plans. According to sources, the TRS is hoping to give clarity on the farm loan-waiver scheme for farmers through the Governor’s speech. It will also include pensions to old-aged, widows and handicapped persons besides its plans for the irrigation sector. The party earmarked around Rs 10,000 crore for the irrigation sector. Projects that will be completed in the first two years have also been included in Governor’s speech.

A word about the TRS promises made in its election manifesto -- help to martyrs families, welfare of deprived sections, reorganisation of districts, maintaining law and order in the capital, regularization of contract employees among others –have been included in Narasimhan’s speech, said the sources.
