CM KCR: Can’t Go Back on the Issue in Prevailing Conditions. KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, reportedly not going back on his decision on the matter of appointment of Deputy Speaker.
Hyderabad: KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, reportedly not going back on his decision on the matter of appointment of Deputy Speaker. The leaders of opposition parties called on KCR to request him to allocate the position of Deputy Speaker of the state assembly to someone from the opposition parties, as the speaker post was already allocated to the ruling party candidate. Nevertheless, KCR has reportedly told them that in the prevailing circumstances they cannot allocate the deputy position to a candidate of opposition party.
From the other end, Padma Devender Reddy has filed her nomination for the post of Deputy Speaker of Telangana state assembly. Her candidature was supported by TDP, BJP, MIM and Left Parties, apart from few Congress Party leaders. However, few leaders still demand that someone from opposition to be given the portfolio.
