When local TDP leaders and activists went near the helipad to greet chief minister on his arrival they were pushed away by the security men guarding the helipad, provoking their resentments.
TDP Kuppam constituency in-charge G Srinivasulu and Naidu’s personal assistant Manohar also faced the same treatment from the security personnel. The duo entered into an altercation with the police, leading to mild tension with the activists there joined with them in condemning the police action. Later, the leaders complained to Naidu on police roughing up them. Naidu, speaking at a meeting in Santhipuram pulled up the police and wanted them to be restraining in dealing with the local people who were eager to meet him.
