Telangana sees 50% fall in sowing

Hyderabad: Framers of Telangana have been waiting for the monsoons. There has been no hint when the rain falls will occur in the state. The drought-like conditions are staring at the new state of Telangana, if the rains continue to stay away affecting farming activities. There is a strong relationship between the monsoons and the farmers. Until and unless the monsoons have a shower on the fields, there would be no way for the farmers to go ahead with the farming activities.

In general, the sowing area in Telangana state is 9.49L hectares. Nevertheless, due to the deficit rains this year, as on date, the same falls to 4.283L hectares, amounting to almost half to the original sowing area. During kharif, the total area sown is 40.38 lakh acres in Telangana region.
