Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the new State had got a raw deal in the Budget 2014-15. Expressing his disappointment over the budget, KCR said they had pinned high hopes on the Centre and expected that it would help the newly-formed State by providing liberal financial allocations.
All that the Union Finance Minister announced was one University for Telangana, while AP got about seven institutions. The Horticulture University was not a new gift. It was there in the AP State Reorganisation Bill, KCR said. The Finance Minister merely stated that the Centre was committed to issues mentioned in the Reorganisation Act, but he did not give clarity on any issue, KCR added. He said he had no objection to what AP got in the budget, but would have appreciated if the Centre had done equal justice to both the States.
