Naini sees red over AP decision, AP government which was cash-strapped was trying to divert the attention of the people. Talking to reporters at Secretariat, he pointed out that 1956 year was chosen as the cut-off year taking several factors into consideration

Hyderabad: Peeved over the decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to move the Apex court against the decision of the T government to fix 1956 as the cut-off date for fee reimbursement, Telangana Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy said that the AP government which was cash-strapped was trying to divert the attention of the people. Talking to reporters at Secretariat, he pointed out that 1956 year was chosen as the cut-off year taking several factors into consideration. This would be only applicable to fee reimbursement scheme and not to other schemes. AP ministers were misguiding people by stating that this condition would be applied to other schemes as well, he added. Further, he pointed out that Telangana government was willing to maintain cordial relations with neighboring government provided it mended its ways.

Replying to a query on Governor’s powers over law and order in Hyderabad, the Home Minister said that it was not acceptable to them. How one could snatch away powers of a government elected by popular mandate, he asked. Governor is just a mediator between State and Centre, Naini said.

The Home Minister was also critical of Telangana BJP’s outbursts against the government. He sought to know the stand of Telangana BJP on Polavaram Bill. Are they supporting Tribals in this issue or opposing them, he questioned.
