Hyderabad: Two bedroom flats to the deserving weaker sections is one of the dreams of KCR. The project is likely to take more three to four months to get it on to the track. The initial estimation for the flats has been 3L for each flat. Nevertheless, due to increase in the raw material it is likely that the expenditure to be incurred on each flat may go up to 3.5-4L for each flat. KCR, who found enormous irregularities in the housing scheme, running into a huge sum, has ordered a CB-CID probe.
The Chief Minister KCR is also keen to find out the correct data of households in the state before launching his electoral promises to ensure that genuine households get the earmarked benefits, while the CID probe is on.
KCR said, “I feel pained to order a CB-CID inquiry, but I had no option. I am flabbergasted at the huge fraud in the housing scheme. There is an Rs 1000-crore fraud”. KCR pointed to a village in Warangal where bills were claimed for construction of 600 houses, but not a single house was found. KCR said that he wanted to ensure pucca construction of houses and those eligible families in Telangana get the benefit. He also said that he was not in a hurry to ground the scheme without proper documentation.
