Ministers T Harish Rao, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy along with some TRS MPs and legislators called on Rao who returned on Sunday night after a five-day visit of Singapore and Malaysia.

Sharing his thoughts with them, Rao felt that the development achieved by Singapore, despite shortcomings like lack of natural resources including land, was truly remarkable.

Rao told them that Singapore imports everything from outside including drinking water. The entire area of the country is just 1.75 lakh acres. Singapore progressed rapidly from being a third-world nation to fully developed country within a short time. He said India, with availability of vast land and plenty of natural resources, was lagging way behind on development front.

Akbaruddin calls on TS CM
Hyderabad: MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi called on TS Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Secretariat on Monday. The party floor leader, who spent more than an hour in the CM’s chambers, is believed to have discussed on the government allocations for the development of Old City along with a detailed plan for the development of Hyderabad, whose report was submitted earlier by the party leadership within days of TRS winning the elections. It is also believed that both discussed possible alliance during the GHMC elections. Sources say that the talks of possible tie-up were initiated by the MIM leader. The Chief Minister too has reportedly assured to nominate Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy to take the matter forward.
