RTC bus hits two wheeler; youth killed

Early on Tuesday, an RTC bus whacked a two wheeler near Jangareddy Palle near Amanagallu in Mahabubnagar district. In this accident Rathulavat Ramdas (24) died on the spot. According to the police, Ramdas was on his way to Amanagal on his two wheeler when an RTC bus belonging to Kalvakurthy bus depot hit near Jangareddypalle from the back. The deceased is learnt to be a resident of Padamati Thanda of Gunnapalli Mandal in Nalgonda district. Sai Kumar, the local sub inspector of police, inspected the spot and registered a case. The dead body has been rushed to Kalvakurthy government hospital. More details are awaited.

RTC buses which have been known for the safe journey have lost their credibility due to the increased number of accidents over a period of time. More than 10 accidents in which the RTC buses were involved have been registered in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in the last couple of months. Surely, something is going wrong. There is a need to conduct regular training to the RTC drivers, at this juncture.
