GHMC gears up for Ganesh immersion
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is gearing up for the Ganesh immersion. The civic body has already chalked out a cleanup drive and has allotted Rs 1149 .12 lakh for engineering, electrical, sanitation and urban biodiversity.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is gearing up for the Ganesh immersion. The civic body has already chalked out a cleanup drive and has allotted Rs 1149 .12 lakh for engineering, electrical, sanitation and urban biodiversity.
Ganesha Action Teams (GAT) numbering 122 have been formed. Each team consists of one sanitary supervisor, three SFAs and 21 workers working in two shifts. There would be a GAT team for every 3-4 kms that would cover the total length of 227.85 kms. Clearing of debris starts from today and each circle is given one JCB and four six tonners. A total of 19 toilets at Tank Bund, NTR Marg and Charminar would be manned by workers. Road repairs along the main stretch especially Balapur to Tank Bund, S R Nagar, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, Thirumalgherry, Ranigunj, Warasiguda, Musheerabad, Clock Tower and Paradise are being taken up. Special emergency teams numbering 24 would be available to take up repairs in an event of sudden sinking
