Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao stated that education system in Telangana would undergo a sea change with implementation of 'KG to PG' free education scheme from next year onwards.

He shared his thoughts with a high-level delegation from United Kingdom that met him at Secretariat on Thursday. Briefing them about his government’s plans for education sector, Chief Minister sought assistance of Britain in his flagship scheme which he wished to make on par with international standards. He requested them to train teachers here in English and other subjects.

Meanwhile, the delegation applauded KCR for his plans and expressed interest to assist the newly-formed State in fields of education, health and environment. Cultural Affairs Minister Rob Lines and Deputy High Commissioner Andrew McAllister were part of this delegation.

Salarjung Museum set for a makeover
Meanwhile, KCR hailed England for conserving centuries old museums and heritage properties in that country.

The house of celebrated author William Shakespeare was made a heritage property, he noted. Taking cue from UK, the Chief Minister wished to transform the famous Salarjung Museum in Hyderabad on par with global museums in the near future.
