Former naxalite, 3 others arrested
The police have arrested a former naxalite turned extortionist here on Saturday along with his three accomplices, recovered a fire arm and ammunition.
Warangal: The police have arrested a former naxalite turned extortionist here on Saturday along with his three accomplices, recovered a fire arm and ammunition.
According to Hanam konda deputy superintendent of police Dakshina Murthy, the accused Shilakuntla Biskshapathi belongs to Nadikuda village of Parkal mandal in the district. He was involved in theft cases, kidnapping and extortion of money. He used to smuggle ganja between 2003 and 2011. He came out of underground in 1997 and later started committing offenses.
In the month of August 2014, Bikshapathi and his accomplices have kidnapped a person called Shravan and demanded Rs 1.20 lakh as ransom and received the amount in return for releasing him. It was said that the former naxal along with his collaborators called Chiranjeevi of Mulug area, V Ganesh of Nalgonda and Md Sadiq of Warangal were camped at Erragattugutta on the outskirts of Warangal to receive a shipment of pistol and nine rounds of ammunition from a broker called Tiwari.
Circle inspector Devender Reddy raided the spot and took him into custody. During the interrogation, they confessed to the acts of crime, the DSP Dakshina Murthy informed.
