Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, Ponnam Prabhakar flayed the TRS government for not fulfilling its promise of sanctioning Rs 10 lakh to each family of Telangana martyrs even after two months of coming to power.

The former MP has criticised the TRS government for lacking commitment to implement social welfare schemes. He stated that it was irony to hold a meeting on budget session in the absence of Finance Minister Etela Rajender. He flayed Etela Rajender for taking up Karimnagar tour when the TRS government was conducting a meeting on budget session in Hyderabad. He slammed Chandrasekhar Rao for not addressing power shortage in Telangana state even after promising to resolve it.

“Namaste Telangana and T-news channel have completely ignored the election campaign which was participated by the opposition leader Jana Reddy and TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah,” he said. He stated that Namaste Telangana and T-news channel have become mouth piece of the TRS government. Ponnam Prabhakar said that the Chief Minister has no right to speak on freedom of the press. He asked whether Namasthe Telangana and T news channel have media freedom when they cannot publish or telecast news about Congress but only to give publicity to the TRS government.
