Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday said that the party would hence forth adopt an aggressive posture towards the TRS government and would oppose all its anti-people actions.

Criticising the government for having failed to implement loan waiver scheme and its failure to supply uninterrupted power for agriculture, even when the rains had failed, the TPCC laid seize to the Rangareddy District Collector’s office.

The party workers tried to barge into the Collectorate. A scuffle ensued as the police tried to stop them. Amidst shouting of slogans like “KCR down down,” the police took the Congress leaders and activists into custody. Former Minister Danam Nagender had a heated argument with the police.

Addressing party workers, Ponnala said the TRS government had cheated the farmers on the issue of loan waiver scheme and had failed to implement it even after 100 days in office. He claimed that the only party that had stood by the farmers always was the Congress party. Criticising Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Ponnala said the Chief Minister does not know that it was the UPA government which had waived of loans to the tune of Rs 1.10 lakh crore across the country without any conditions.

In the State it was the Congress CM who had signed the first file on free power to farmers, he said. Referring to KCR’s remark that he knows nothing about agriculture, Ponnala lambasted KCR for claiming to be a farmer showing his farm house as an alibi.

Other Congress leaders who participated in the dharna include Karthik Reddy, who contested the Chevella Lok Sabha seat in 2014 elections, Rangareddy DCC in-charge president Mallesh Goud, former MLAs D Sudheer Reddy and Koona Srisailam Goud.
