TV9 ban lifted in Hyderabad, Hathway resumes telecast

After the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal order, Hathway has resumed TV9 telecast. The ban on the news channel in Telangana lasted for 144 days.

It may be recalled that MSOs had stopped telecast of ABN Andhra Jyothi and TV9 news channels over content of their programmes. There were massive protests in Telangana against the two channels for airing anti-Telangana programmes. This had led to the channels being banned in the entire state. However, ABN is yet to resume in Telangana. Besides, the ban is lifted only in Hyderabad, the rest of Telangana still cannot see the channel.
